Cartier is one of the most iconic fine jewelry brands; its own philosophy which is called "Savoir-Faire," is the most fascinating concept. Cartier is dedicated to creating bold design pieces with impeccable craftsmanship.
Cartier's philosophy on home collection is that it brings the same glamour of details, beauty, and lifestyle into one's surroundings. We capture the essence of Cartier's home collection and reimagine them into the designs for a hotel stay.
Savior Faire means the union between fine craft skills and outstanding designs; thus, in the Cartier Hotel, we want this ideology to continue through the spatial design.
By introducing the organic forms that took inspirations from the curves and shapes of Cartier's fine jewerly pieces, and extrating the reflections and surface textures of the pieces. We are creating a journey with sophisticated touch and elegant flow.
THE SITE - PALM SPRING
The history of Palm Springs can be traced back to when Hollywood movie stars purchased their luxury mansion here. Due to the 2 hour policy which require movie star need to arrived to their studio in 2 hours of where they lived.
Although the 2-hour policy no longer exists now, Palm Spring continue its legacy and attracting more tourist. We want Cartier's historic glamour and unique design language to blend with Palm Spring'’ retro-artistic vibe. Delivering an experience with both the fine jewelry's attraction and the destination's history.
The Cartier hotel is divided by a driveway that creates soft buffer from public spaces and guestroom area. Presenting a mysterious, yet attracting senses when guest arrived.
The lobby level meant to create a cozy and open living room feeling, and the form language is inspired by the shape and porportion of Cartier's fine jewerly. The guestroom took perfect curvature from Cartier's ring collection, shaping the space by this elegant curve, providing a dynamic yet harmony spatial experience.
The facade is inspired by Cartier's precise diamond cutting techniques, the glass is cutted and offseted into different positions based on interior space, and crowned with brass frames.
The entrance is hidden in the driveway, which creates a sense of privacy maison. The door, and the colors represent the artistic yet sophisticated sensorial experience of Cartier.
Entering hotel with evevator, which is only element guest will encounter when they first enter the hotel, after they arrived to second floor, everything start reveal and deliver that Cartier vibe to the guests. The facet shape wall is inspired by Cartier's iconic Clash De Cartier jewerly series, delivering that unique design to the guests.
The opening on the floor and sealings allows guests apperciate the sunlight cast a gorgeous shadow into the space, and guests can also takw a view of trinity lounge in the opening.
Welcome to Savoir-Faire Bar, a place where guest can apperciate Cartier unique stories and legendary old techniques. Ths Cartier bar is all about memorizing those vibrant stories happened in Cartier brand history.
Cartier Savoir-faire bar is all about celebrating Cartier's rich history and present 1970s Hollywood entertainment vibe to the guest. The color and surface textures is a tribute to the 1970s bold art-deco luxury styles, and adding the Cartier's iconic red into the hue.
Trinity lounge is a space where guest can take a break, feel the pure design of Cartier's one of most legendary series-Trinity series. Guest will slow down and feel the mood that made by Cartier's unique design.
The courtyard is designed to create an oasis in the Palm Spring. Thus, courtyard features a giant reflection pool to offer a soft and relaxing senses for guests in the Hotel, which refers to Cartier's spirit of Savoir-Faire.
The room of Hotel Cartier is creating a levels of intimacy with curated details and bold design languages from Cartier.
The spatial planning is inspired from curves and details of Cartier's jewelry design language, we redefine the angles and shapes into every corner and every counter inside the guestroom.
The fixtures, and design details in the Cartier rooms, are also perfect demonstration of Cartier's uncompromised design language: Precious details. From Ballon De Bleu, Love, and Juste Un Clou series, these details emphasize the luxurious escape and Savoir-Faire attributes of Cartier Hotel.
Cartier room is perfect for having an afternoon tea and happy moments when guests enjoying their life in the hotels. Through attracting dessert, relaxing sofa inspired by Cartier design language, and calming sunlight in Palm Spring. The guest will have a perfect afternoon time.
The giant bathtub, the vurve form sinks, and those precious brass reflective details, truly rasing up the luxurious escape mood and slow down the pace of the guest. With the curtain that split the bathing and resting area, and carefully designed light and material finishes. Guests can have a top-to-bottom sensorial relax experience.
The living space is inspired from Cartier's quietness and delicate form language from its signature fine jewelry collections. The sculpture of the jewelry pieces resonate peacefully with every details in the room.
